Determination is the ability to keep going no matter how hard it gets. MBA Chai Wala’s owner, Prafull Billore, was determined to bring his dreams into this materialistic world. His success story serves as realistic example where every common man can relate and inspire from it.
Prafull planned to get his master’s from IIM Ahmedabad and his plans were shattered by his failure in CAT for consecutive three attempts. Prafull’s 10-hour study sessions everyday did not help his objective to live up to his parent’s hope for his future. Despite the continuous failure, his parents supported him but Prafull fell into depression and travelled around Ahmedabad in search of comfort. He later ditched his dreams of pursuing MBA and ended up in job at McDonald’s. Prafull wanted to accomplish something on his own and discovered that the best approach was building a business.
After a lot of thinking Prafull opened a tea stall because he lacked necessary funds to open a café. Despite the fact that the probability of success was low and his father looking down on him, he opened his firm with an investment of Rs.8,000. With a series of sleepless nights, he worked at McDonald’s from morning and then took care of his tea stall in the evening.
One can find a tea stall in every corner and Prafull brought few unique ideas to get the customers. He used earthen pots to serve tea accompanied by toast and tissues. He attracted people through his communication abilities which made other vendors envious and was put out by the union. This in result made him even more confident that his idea had a good reach and secured a place near an hospital. There he once again started a business investing Rs.10,000. He eventually then started selling snacks and coffee.
Prafull then opened ‘Mr. Billore Ahmedabad Chaiwala’ a.k.a MBA Chaiwala, his own restaurant which within few months was generating millions of dollars. Being very active on the socials he is very famous among the youngsters. Having spoken in 200 events, empowerment programs and more he is a budding entrepreneur whose aim is to sell tea all over the country. He had a revenue of Rs 3 crore in the financial year 2019-20.
Now holding the pride of being one of the India’s most iconic chai chain everyday Prafull should thank himself for never giving up. No matter how stuck you feel simple chai can make the magic happen.
